Pilot course evaluations

While I was working in the Provost's office at St. Mary's College as a graduate student, part of my responsibilities included collating and cleaning-up data from the course evaluations given to the students at the end of a class.  The school had just run through a pilot evaluation for several courses including new questions designed to engage students more and to give them a better opportunity to share their opinions of the class and professor.  These evaluations are very important to the college, as they are partly used to help determine tenure and advancement, as well as which courses should be kept.

Research and report

Below you can see the slides I used to present the findings and data from the pilot evaluations.  My responsibilities included combining and cleaning all of the raw data in excel, coding the written responses for completeness and content, and then visualizing the data in Tableau in order to capture the effectiveness of the new evaluation.  I then presented my findings to the panel in charge of creating the pilot evaluation along with my own recommendations on some alterations.
